Your Summer Emotional Bucket List

Do you have big plans this summer? No matter if you are taking a big vacation or a small day trip, or if you are hitting the running trails or the ice cream shop, the summer season is a wonderful time to take care of your emotional health. The days are longer, sunshine is in supply, and it can feel easier to tackle some hard things among the warm days. Here are a few inspirational ideas for getting your emotional health in check this summer.

Start Daily Walks

Exercise is an important part of your mental health, as the endorphins released after a workout can help you feel great. The good news is that you can get those endorphins from a CrossFit session, running a marathon, or just strolling around your neighborhood. Start small and commit to walking daily. Find a partner to hold you accountable, or make walking a non-negotiable on your daily calendar.

Begin a Gratitude Practice

There is always something to be thankful for, whether a promotion at work or your favorite song coming on the radio. This summer, commit to beginning a gratitude practice that works for you. Write down three things you are thankful for each morning in a journal you keep by the coffee pot or write them down as events happen in the notes app in your phone.

Don’t Isolate, But Don’t Overdo It Either

Summer gives us plenty of times to connect with our friends and family members. If you are feeling depressed or anxious, you may find yourself isolating yourself from these events. However, connecting to our peers is a way to decrease depression or anxiety. Attend events with your friends and family throughout the season, but don’t overdo it either. A too-busy social calendar can leave you feeling burned out instead of filled up. Find your balance and stick with it.

Make the Appointment

Are you putting off making an appointment that will benefit your physical or emotional health? Now is the time to finally make the appointment. Set up a therapy consultation. Set the date for your check-up with your primary care physician. Call your dentist to schedule your cleaning. Call us for your session with Intuitive Mel Doerr.

You shouldn’t manage your emotional health on your own when you don’t have to. Partner with Mel Doerr to work on developing your own intuition, or to find closure and encouragement during sessions. Contact us today to schedule your appointment. Let’s make this summer your best yet.
