Intuitive Strategic Planning

How to Begin Including Happiness in Your Daily Routines

People view happiness differently. You might see happiness as having a good support system, being at peace with yourself, or being free to follow your dreams. However, the truth is that you can have a happier life by making a few changes to your personal life. You can start doing things that make you happier on a daily basis and eventually they will become a habit. Here are some daily habits you can develop to increase your happiness.

Smile

People smile when they are happy and this makes the brain release dopamine, making us feel happier. You can try smiling at yourself by thinking happy thoughts when you start feeling down. The best part about smiling is that you can improve someone else’s mood without knowing.

Exercise

Exercise is known to improve physical, emotional, and mental strength. By exercising, you can get relief from stress, anger, anxiety, and even depression. You can look for fun activities like hiking and take part in them. You can also try new activities and see if they suit you but avoid overexerting yourself.

Get Enough Rest

It is common knowledge that getting enough sleep is necessary for good health and a healthy emotional life. If you find yourself fighting the urge to sleep during the day, it means that you are not having enough sleep. You need to get enough rest everyday so that you can have a better mood. Lack of enough rest can make you moody.

Eat Healthy

The food you eat can affect the mood that you have. You need to have a healthy diet so that you can give your body enough nutrients. Some foods can improve your mood better than others for instance, lean meat, dairy, poultry and legumes. However, feasting on junk food has the opposite effect and can leave you feeling low.

Happiness is within reach and you can strive to be happy by developing some good habits. If you do not know what makes you happy, you can contact me, Mel Doerr, and get the guidance and support you need to take the first step.
